UNA San Diego Awards Contract to Kubichan Communications
SAN DIEGO - MAY 17 2004 - The United Nations Association of San Diego (UNA-SD) awards Kubichan Communications with a contract to direct and plan their annual fundraiser for UN Day 2004. UNA-SD aimed to not only increase their exposure within the local and global community but also raise the bar on their annual event. This is the first time in their 58 year history UNA-SD has hired a firm outside their organization to manage such an undertaking. Kubichan Communications will handle the sponsorship and mailing campaign, secure all guest speakers, solicit volunteers, manage event logistics and direct all marketing, media and public relations. The gala fundraiser will focus on UN Goals as it relates to Women and HIV/AIDS and will be held in October of 2004.
"Katharine Kubichan as been an integral part of our organization for many years and because of her many years of international work experience both here in the community and overseas, we are confident her firm, Kubichan Communications, LLC would not only manage the job well, but also lead us into a new area of fundraising and public awareness," says Jim Van De Water, President of UNA-SD. "We need a firm to handle everything from start to finish, with professionalism and attention to our members needs, the public at large and the ability to work closely with our Board of Directors."
"We are thrilled that UNA-SD has chosen our firm to direct and plan their UN Day annual event. We feel we have many creative ideas and valuable corporate contacts to bring to UN Day 2004 that will add tremendous value to the event and organization, provide a new sense of pizzazz while seamlessly offering an event facelift. We will meticulously help deliver the event's message to educate the attendees and UNA-SD members on the serious issue of HIV/AIDS and women around the globe today," says Katharine Kubichan, President of Kubichan Communications.
Kubichan Communications plans to add two new prestigious awards to the already existing Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Award and the UNA Member Award. They aim to secure a celebrity and an UN spokesperson, as only four have ever visited San Diego in the city's history. The firm has also played a key role or volunteered services in many social and humanitarian efforts within the local and global community including working with many AIDS organizations and SCRIPPS Cancer Research.
The United Nations Association-USA (UNA-USA) was founded in 1946, in New York city.
