Kubichan Communications secured opportunity for the Hollywood Graffiti Gown to appear at the 25th anniversary of the Academy Awards Night Gala in San Francisco, a fundraising effort for fourteen Bay Area HIV/AIDS service agencies. The dazzling event will take place on February 27th at the Fort Mason Festival Pavilion. Kubichan Communications also obtained Actress Lindsay Wagner, "The Bionic Woman" to present and wear the gown at the gala representing all the legendary women on the gown behind the cause and this very grand project.
"We were very pleased when Katharine contacted us about the Hollywood Graffiti AIDS gown contributing to our event. We have worked so hard over the years to grow this event to what it is today, and the gown is a very special addition to our evening. We are grateful for Katharine's and the designer's efforts to make our event unforgettable," says the Chair of the event, Randy Shields.
Academy of Friends was founded in 1980 by Kile Ozier as a small, private Oscar Night party---twenty-five friends, a little food, a lot of champagne and a touch of Awards Night glamour. Over subsequent years, the party became an HIV/AIDS fundraiser, a reaction to the toll HIV was taking on the local community. Today, it has grown into not only one of the most fabulous Awards Night celebrations outside of Los Angeles; it is one of the largest contributors to Bay Area HIV/AIDS service organizations, distributing in excess of 4 million dollars over two decades. The 25th Annual Academy of Friends Gala hopes to distribute over $500,000 to Bay Area HIV/AIDS service organizations, touching the lives of nearly 200,000 people of every race, gender and socioeconomic background.
