Kubichan Communications Contracted to help Promote a Global Youth Environmental Movement using the Arts as a Key Communications Tool
New York City, NEW YORK June 5th, 2007- Kubichan Communications, one of the team leads, working with Art Miles Mural Project, iEARN, WFUNA, New York point guards Stephen Marbury, of Steve and Barry's organized a dynamic event launching a new educational cooperative project called "Our Footprints, Our Future" or OF2.
OF2 involves student groups from around the world collaborating to reduce the CO2 omissions using iEARN's software network. Kubichan Communications also represented Art Miles Shoes of Hope which were chosen to symbolize the "visual" footprints along side renowned political cartoonist, Ranan Lurie's, Uniting Painting installed at the UN Headquarters outdoor plaza. The event was featured in the International Herald Tribune and MSNBC.
"It was such an honor to meet and work with Re-known political artist Ranan Lurie and New York Knicks point guard Stephon Marbury. Working with such a creative and talented team is such an inspiration and will hopefully spread further goodwill amongst the community," says Kubichan.
Students from 6 different New York City schools attended to thank New York Knicks Stephon Marbury for his donation of 1000 pair of shoes for the Art Miles Shoes of Hope painting process and to share their commitment to help reduce green house gases on UNEP World Environment Day. The children were proud to point out their creativity in the shoes they designed at the exhibition, as the shoes displayed an artistic message of environmental awareness and peace activism.
The Art Miles Shoes of Hope, now to be donated to the non-profit organization, Campaign to End Genocide in Uganda...NOW! (CEGUN) by Art Miles, will soon be shipped to children in Uganda and distributed to various camps there. On this monumental occasion, many of the children will be receiving their very first pair of shoes. The Kubichan Communications team will also help coordinate this effort to help bring the project full circle.
UNA-SD has already been contacted by the California Department of Energy who has given the organization a huge thumbs up for their innovative and creative campaign. Katharine Kubichan of Kubichan Communications, also represented UNA-SD while in NY. Information about the shoes and OF2 have been spread to various environmental groups as well as the State Board of Education.
